Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek

Ghorepani Poon hill trek is the shortest trekking in Annapurna region, is also known as Ghorepani trek. Poonhill is the best sunrise view point to have a massive view of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Fishtail. Early in the morning, you hike up to Poonhill to enjoy the incredible view, path follows through giant primary rhododendron dens forest, troops of monkeys and exotic birds set a vibrant and colorful scene.Ghandruk (1940m) is one of the largest Gurung villages with its traditional buildings and picture-perfect setting below Machapuchare (6,993m). This village is known as origin place for Gurung ethnic. The trail descends from ghandruk to the road head for the journey back to Pokhara.

This trek starts from Pokhara specially Modi Khola river. It is just an hour drive from Pokhara. The panoramic scene of Machhapuchhre is wonderful. Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri are also reputed white Himalayas which can be view in horizon from the trails of Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking. Ghorepani is surrounded by countless rhododendron and other flowers and plants which is tremendous.

Day 01: Drive or fly Kathmandu / Pokhara (820m), drive (6 hours). Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02: Drive to Nayapul and start trek to Ulleri (1960 m.) – 4 to 5 hrs walk

 Day 03: Trek Ulleri / Ghorepani (2750 m.) – 5 to 6 hrs walk.

 Day 04: Morning, excursion to Poon hill (3193 m.) and trek to Tadapani (2590 m.) – 6 to 7 hrs walk.

 Day 05: Tadapani / Ghandrung (1940 m.) – 3 hrs walk.

 Day 06: Trek Ghandruk / Pothana (1900 m.) – 5 to 6 hrs walk

 Day 07: Trek, Pothana / Phedi (approx. 2 hrs walk) and drive to Pokhara (approx. 30 min drive). Overnight stay at hotel.

 Day 08: Drive or fly Pokhara / Kathmandu
